Quarterly Assistance
http://www.florida-arts.org/grants/qa/

The Quarterly Assistance Program has four main goals in funding: to act as an introductory grant program for new organizations or organizations with no prior Division grant experience; to capture “sudden opportunities” for projects of arts organizations (that is, opportunities that were not anticipated or known in time for other grant program application deadlines); to promote professional development for arts organizations within the Consultant, In-Service Training, or Staff Exchange categories; to provide a place for small Division-initiated projects or to provide organizations with a larger funding request for special projects that are broader in scope than what is offered by the mini-grant. Arts organizations are eligible for funding in all five grant subcategories; non-arts organizations are eligible for funding in only the Special Project category. Quarterly Assistance funding is not intended to supplement general program support.

RAVE WORKSHOP
http://www.raveresidency.com

The RAVE Workshop is part of the first edition of the RAVE East Village Artist Residency, a residency program for artists hosted in a traditional old farm-house in the heart of the Friuli countryside, the Pasolini north east of Italy. The workshop, produced with the support and cooperation of the City of Trivignano Udinese, will last three days and will be open to young artists living in Europe. The initiative is sponsored by: project leader Associazione Culturale LʼOfficina, Comitato Trieste Contemporanea-Dialoghi con l'Arte dell'Europa Centro Orientale, Associazione Culturale Hope, Associazione Culturale Etrarte, Altevie Technologies. The objective of the workshop is to give young people the opportunity to interact with great international artists, as well as a chance to exchange ideas and experiences with other young people from different backgrounds and training. The RAVE East Village Artist Residency program, created by Isabella Pers and Tiziana Pers, will invite a number of prominent artists to live and work in a farmhouse located in rural Trivignano Udinese. The artist in residence for the RAVE Workshop 2011 is ADRIAN PACI. He will hold a workshop on the 10th, 11th and12th of June, 2011. He will freely decide the nature of the workshop, the methods and approaches. A committee of experts will select 12 Europen artists from those who have applied for the program. 6 places will be reserved for artists from Friuli Venezia Giulia. Participation in the workshop is free and hospitality costs will be covered by the organization. The food will be vegetarian and accommodation is provided for participants coming from outside the region. Travel expenses must be covered by individual participants. At the end of the workshop participants will be invited to present a project based on their experiences during the event. For organisational reasons all materials that the 12 artists wish to submit must be received by August 20, 2011. The material received will be exhibited at the event “Immaginare il tempo” (Imagining time) which will be held in the historic village of Clauiano on the 24/25th September 2011. We ask that the material remain available to the organization for a period of one year for future initiatives. The exhibition will be accompanied by the publication of a catalogue. SELECTION COMMITTEE Adam Budak - Daniele Capra - Giuliana Carbi - Isabella Pers - Antonio Riello - Julia Trolp REGISTRATION Registration is free and open to all young visual artists over the age of 18, residing in Europe. A good knowledge of English is required to participate in the workshop. The registration form can be downloaded online on www.raveresidency.com and must be filled out and sent no later than April 30, 2011, enclosing the required documents. The selected participants will be contacted by May 6, 2011. HOW TO PARTICIPATE Applicants should submit an entry form together with the material specified below. Required Documentation: Completed application form, available online on www.raveresidency.com - A portfolio of work submitted as a PDF file (max 10 pages/2MB) containing images of the works with their data (title, year, technique, dimension). The applicant can add an artistic statement and a description of the works (maximum of 2.000 characters, in Italian or English) - A link of a video or a extract from video (max 3”) - Curriculum Vitae containing: solo shows last 4 years / group shows last 4 years / residencies and awards / grants and other scholarship Only documentation presented in accordance with these requirements will be considered. All documentation must be sent no later than April 30, 2011 WORKSHOP THEME The changing of natural and urban spaces is directly related to culture and social habits. How is it still possible to experience this of as a complete perception of the present, of space and of the lives which are lived there? And how can art address a transient reality and find a relationship with reality which is different from the evermore over-excited conventional images we give it? Animals live in the place where the workshop will be held. These have been saved from the food industry through artistic actions, removed from consumerist mechanisms to be welcomed and cared for in a more natural context. In this sense, the perspective which underlies the residency is also permeated by the personal and professional relationship that ties the artists Isabella and Tiziana Pers to the place where it is held. The farmhouse itself is located in a small village in Friuli, in a rural environment, far from large urban centres. As such the artists will be able to interact with the natural physicality of an environment where one can still perceive the origins and stratifications. Furthermore, after the removal of the borders in the EU enlargement process, Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the extreme eastern Italy, has acquired a new dimension that has led to the area becoming a conduit linking the east and west. This is a channel that has absorbed many influences throughout its history. The theme is intended as a starting point and the artists will be free to investigate the different aspects and interpretations of it in the manner they feel is most appropriate. The purpose of the workshop is to ensure that all participants have the opportunity to experience a different modus vivendi in order to create new ideas and reflections. The topics of the workshop relate to the theme of Immaginare il Tempo: in this event, that will take place during the autumn equinox, they will be explored through a series of debates and talks. RayMar's Third Annual Fine Art Competition
http://www.raymarart.com/ac/

$26,500 in PRIZES! (To be awarded Spring 2009) 1st - $10,000 Cash 2nd - $5,000 Cash 3rd - $2,500 Cash 4 - 12 - $1,000 Cash Current Contest - February 2008 Judge: Kevin Macpherson Kevin Macpherson one of the country’s leading plein air painters, is highly respected among collectors and fellow artists alike. Past President of the Plein Air Painters of America, Kevin is a popular instructor throughout the country and abroad. His painting workshops are highly attended, often selling out years in advance. Now in its ninth printing, Macpherson’s painting instruction book, Fill Your Oil Paintings with Light and Color, has been translated into the Chinese language and has quickly become a best-seller for publisher North Light Books. Kevin's clear, concise teaching method has inspired and directed thousands of plein air painters. Born in 1956, this artist’s work is nationally recognized and collected, having attracted the attention of major art collectors, including Roy Rose, the grand-nephew of acclaimed California plein air painter Guy Rose. Kevin has won numerous national awards, including so many in national Oil Painters of America competitions that he is the first artist in the organization to be elevated from Signature Member status to that of Master Signature Member. Kevin excels in his ability to paint all subject matter: landscape, still life, and figurative works. Using spontaneous brushwork and candid color, Kevin’s work reveals his interpretive and creative virtuosity. He easily manipulates the elements of an artist’s 'visual toolbox' to capture the mood of his subject, whether it be the dramatic light of southern France, the rugged beauty of the California coast, or the brilliance of dappled light through a floral still life. Kevin’s work has been featured in many national magazines, Art of the West, Art Talk, U. S. Art, Wildlife Art and gracing the covers of Southwest Art, American Artist, International Artist, and The Artist’s Magazine. Contibuting editor to Southwest Art Magazine, author of 'The Artist’s Voice, 2000'. In addition to numerous gallery exhibitions, he has shown at the Gilcrease Museum, the Arizona State Capital and the Albuquerque Museum. Kevin now makes his home in the mountains of Taos, New Mexico, merging his influences from years in Arizona with his childhood memories of New Jersey. Bitten with wanderlust, Kevin and his wife Wanda can be seen anywhere in the world painting en plein air.
