Boundless – Connecting Artists is an annual exhibition that showcases the work of leading learning disabled artists, exhibiting their work alongside that of mainstream artists in established arts venues. This year’s Boundless runs for four weeks in November at the Grant Bradley Gallery in Bristol. It features a range of work by more than 20 artists, including abstract and figurative painting, drawing, digital art and cartoons.
The featured artists come from a broad spectrum of circumstances. Some are trained professionals who exhibit widely, while others have previously only worked privately, in a therapeutic environment. A number spent their early years living in institutions, cut off from mainstream society, ensuring that their work qualifies for a literal definition of outsider art.
