Escuela De Arte Talavera

The Escuela de Arte Talavera is a public centre for artistic formation located in the state of Castilla-La Mancha and dependent on its Council of Education.

The city has a rich artistic tradition, particularly in ceramics and textiles, which over time has led to the development of indutrial and semi-indistrial means of production.

The school specialises in Ceramics, Graphic Design, Photography and the Bachillerato Artistico. Our current course programme also includes a 'Social Guarantee Programme'.

Our Aims

The school is a young and dynamic centre that aims to develop a teaching programme oriented towards developing the artistic sensibility of our students, promoting artistic values such as knowledge, respect and tradition, encouraging interest in and knowdege of our historical and artistic heritage and educating our students to show responsibility, respect and solidarity.

Information For  Undergraduates

Bachillerato Artistico:
This two-year course is the equivalent of the US high-school certificate or UK A'levels and is preparatory to university- or other advanced-level studies in art-oriented subjects.

The school has taught the Bachillerato since 1990.

Ceramics (Grado Medio and Superior):

Studies in ceramics were the very first courses offered by the school, leading it sometimes to be known as the Talavera Ceramics School.
Areas of speciality within ceramics are pottery, decoration, artistic ceramics and modelling.

How To Apply

Applications for the academic year 2006/7 will be received from 10 to 30 May. The second stage of the Ciclos Formativos applications takes place from 1 to 8 September. Entrance examinations will be held on 23 and 28 June and 11 September. Inscriptions 14 to 18 September.
