In 1992, the Glass Studio led by Doc. academic sculptor Pavel Mizera was opened. The studio was
a part of the Department of Arts at the Pedagogic Faculty of UJEP and offered a three-year bachelor's
degree course of non-pedagogic specialization. In 1993, the Institute of Art Culture (IVK) was opened by decision of the Academic Senate, at first as a part of the Pedagogic Faculty. The Glass Studio was then followed by the Ceramic and
Porcelain Studio led by Doc. academic sculptor Pavel Jarkovsk√Ĺ who was at the same time the first head of IVK.
In 1994, the studios of natural materials, photography, graphic design and textile production were
opened. As early as at moment of establishing IVK, there was an idea to extend it, and to transform it into a faculty later. From the beginning, the IVK activities were shielded by the authority of internationally respected artists, and its formation was helped by prestigious artistic and pedagogic personalities from VŇ†UP in Prague, AVU in Prague and other artistic schools and
