Information For  International Students

Student Facilities

We just opened our new building for the spring semester, 2004 and we are really excited about it. This is an awesome facility in the center of campus. We have over 18,000 sq. ft. which includes a gallery, lobby, faculty offices, two design classrooms, theater, two traditional art labs, two digital art labs, lockers, and more. The entire facility is handicap accessible. We have included a number of pictures here so please take a look. We think you will be impressed.

This building has actually been on the JBU campus for over 4 decades as the original Science Building. The facility gradually deteriorated and the Science Dept. outgrew it and a new Science Building was constructed last year. The building was then gutted, (we literally took down every interior wall!) and rebuilt as an Art and Design facility. The faculty had plenty of input into the design of the new spaces and it has turned out to be a major success.

In addition to new space we also have a lot of new equipment including easels, drawing horses, tables and chairs, and computers.

Student Support

Student Support Services is a new program at John Brown University. The University was awarded a five-year grant, with the opportunity for renewal, to begin the program on our campus in Fall 2005.

Also housed in the Student Support Services office is the Office of Disability Services and the Office of Academic Assistance.

The Office of Disability Services provides academic and other accommodations for students with documented disabilities.

The Office of Academic Assistance provides help with learning strategies and study skills for students who do not qualify for the Student Support Services program.

Student Life

JBU is student-oriented. These services are for you. They help make your college experience at JBU the best it can be or just let you get stuff done that needs to get done.

Living on campus will enhance your college experience. It will allow you new opportunities to meet and live with a variety of people. It will also increase your ability to become involved in campus life.

Lastly, it will magnify your educational experience at John Brown University. We think most JBU students would agree, that living on campus is one of the most enjoyable experiences they have had during their college career.
