Department and information about the department

This fall, Film Studies, Communication/Journalism, and Graphic Design moved into the Media Arts Center - Phase 1, a dynamic renovated facility at the heart of the Appian Way.

Students and faculty shape the future world of new art, new knowledge, and new intellectual investigations. Students understand other cultures through learning languages.

Arts and Humanities students and faculty experience the works of past authors and composers, and write for present and future readers and musicians. Students and faculty perform as actors, singers, dancers, and musicians. Students display sculptures, lithographs, graphic designs, and oil paintings. Scholars in history, English, philosophy, and communication present their studies to each other and to the public, while such knowledge serves the world.

Within the context of the college community, the offices of the Student Affairs Division strive to enhance student development by providing appropriate services, encouraging participation, ensuring student rights, and promoting student responsibility.

Student Life

The Student Center offers a comprehensive Student Activities Program that includes campus clubs and organizations, leadership and training opportunities, entertainment and special weekend events.
