WLC College India

The Wigan Design School is one of the premier institutes in the country. Students from the school have achieved remarkable professional growth. The design school is now in its 9th academic year and offers diverse programs in the areas of advertising, Graphic Design & Communication. The Communication programme develops student’s conceptual thinking process, imaginative, intellectual and analytical capabilities, where ideas are exchanged through workshops and practical live projects.
This prepares the student to function successfully in the global communication industry and create “big ideas”. The course aims to produce world-class professionals. The philosophy of the course is to encourage the students to believe in possibilities infinite. The school has strong links with the industry and non-government organizations. A pilot project ‘W Design Communication’ has been initiated by the design department, which takes on advertising, design consultancies.

Academic Staff and Description

Deepti Baveja, National Academic Head, HOD Design, Center Head, Delhi
Masters in Fine Art Visualization & Graphic Design and a Bachelor in Applied Arts. She is also a Gold Medalist from Delhi University. She has 23 years experience in Advertising and Design and has worked as a Creative Director and Design Consultant on brands like TATA's, Dabur, Nestle, Godfrey Philips, India and for the Department of Tourism, Delhi and Kerala. She has been with WLCI for 9 years.

Mahender Thacker, HOD Design, Mumbai
G.D. Com. Art, P.G Weiterbildung fur Grafik, Basel Switzerland, He specializes in Film Design and Visual Communication. He has 31 years of experience and worked with Kudianawala Group at Architects and Urban Planners and has been with WLCI for the past 6 years.

Varsha Shelar, HOD Design, Bangalore
Bachelor in Applied Art from Sir J J Institute of Art, Mumbai with a specialization in indoor and outdoor Advertising and Photography, Post Graduate in Advtg. PR & Marketing Mgmt.
