UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
The Bachelor of Fine Arts programs admit students who qualify in the UP College Admissions Test (UPCAT) and the Talent Determination Test (TDT).

Certificate programs admit students who pass the interview, mental ability tests and the TDT administered by the College on the First Friday of May every year.

The College of Fine Arts admits eligible students only in the first semester of each academic year.

The following are additional entrance requirements for the undergraduate programs:

I. Bachelor of Fine Arts Programs
All applicants for admission must satisfy all University requirements in addition to the above. Graduates from schools other than UP applying for admission into the BFA programs as a second degree are required to pass the TDT.

II. Certificate in Fine Arts Programs
Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
• High school graduates - an average of 80% or better in the year graduated
• Transferees from other UP units – an average of 2.75 or better and at least 30 units earned
• Other transferees - an average grade of 2.0 or better and at least 33 units completed

Only original documents such as high school cards for high school graduates, true copy of grades for UP transferees, and transcript of records and other documents for other transferees must be presented or submitted on the day of application.

Foreign applicants are required to submit other requirements specified by the university for foreign freshmen or transferees.

Admissions Schedule:
* Application Period for beginning freshmen, transferees from other UP units, transferees from other schools : April
* Mental Ability Tests : mid - March to April
* Talent Determination Test (TDT) for UPCAT Qualifiers : April
* Talent Determination Test (TDT) for beginning freshmen, transferees from other UP units, transferees from other schools : May (within the first week)

GRADUATE PROGRAM
Admission to the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) is subject to the following rules and regulations in addition to the minimum requirements for graduate admission in UP.

Eligibility:
• A baccalaureate degree preferably in the arts:
• Three (3) years professional experience as artist;
• Solo exhibition or its equivalent which are five (5) group exhibitions, or five (5) visual communication or industrial design outputs, or one (1) scholarly paper.

Entrance Requirements:
• Portfolio of body of works pertinent to the applicant’s artistic output and concern
• Panel interview
• Written exam
• Proficiency in English

Requirements for Submission:
• Official transcript of records
• Letter of intent indicating the applicant’s proposed thesis concern including the program and time frame involved in its accomplishment
• Endorsement from two (2) former professors and employers where applicable
• Additional requirements for foreign applicants are as follows:
* Valid student visa
* Official permit from country of origin
* Proof of proficiency in English (TOEFL)

Admissions Schedule:
Application Period - mid - January to mid - March
Written Exam of Applicants - April (to be arranged)
Interview - April (to be arranged)
Examination Results - May, first week
