Saatchi Gallery Exhibition at Ipswich Art School Gallery

10 July 2010 - 09 Jan 2011

The Saatchi Gallery is pleased to announce its support for the former Ipswich Art School, which re-opened as a contemporary art space in 2010. The re-opening of the Art School as a gallery is an effort to ensure that learning continues to be at the heart of this building. A teachers' launch has already been held at the re-opened space, which 70 teachers attended in preparation for group visits and art workshops during the Autumn term.

The Saatchi Gallery loaned works to the former Art School by seven artists, including Alexandra Bircken, Thomas Houseago, Matthew Monahan, Will Ryman, Francis Upritchard, Rebecca Warren and Andy Yoder. These works were on exhibition at the Ipswich Art School Gallery in High Street, Ipswich, until January 9, 2011.

The Saatchi Gallery aims to ensure that contemporary art remains accessible to the wider public, and in particular a younger audience of art students and enthusiasts at all times.
