Inscibed verso: "Entrance to Gloucester Harbor/South East Gale, Norman's Woe on the right/Eastern Point Light on the left/1884/by C. Drew." This particularly successful Gloucester scene shows the pre-1890 lighthouse on the left and wonderful detail in the central ship, down to the depiction of individual figures.
