Artist: Molly Springfield
Created On: 2007
Image Medium: graphite on paper
Image Dimensions: 27.9 by 43.2 cm
Art work Description:
In a recent project, Springfield meticulously redraws photocopies of books on conceptual art, in this case, a passage by Douglas Huebler that was found in Ursula Meyers' 1972 book "Conceptual Art". Springfield explores the relationship between text and image, by referencing artists who investigate or utilize language in their own practice, as well as by centering her own work on appropriated text.
