Image Medium: Oil pressed panel
Image Dimensions: 76 x 52
Art work Description:
Our good friend Abbott Cheever would have been 100 this year. A fiercely-independent spirit, he was illustrating national magazine covers when he was in his teens. Like Marsden Hartley, he gravitated to the shores around Corea, Maine for artistic inspiration. This stunning portrayal of the pink granite outcroppings of Schoodic Point with an incoming tide is likely his masterpiece.
