| 120 cm x 270 cm. Acrylique et encre sur papier. / Sofia’s artwork is a mix between the street culture (graffiti & skateboarding), the Caribbean chaotic landscape and the Latina woman aesthetic. She started painting mural in 2002, and until the date she continue combining her exhibitions with mural installations, also working on other mediums as drawings and painting over wood, canvas or skateboards. Sofia was born in Puerto Rico in 1984. She received her BFA from Escuela de Artes Plasticas in San Juan and will complete her MFA in Painting from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY spring 2008. She has taught various workshops on murals, as well as exhibited in Europe, New York, and Puerto Rico. Her collaborations with the exit collective were recently included in the "S" Files" Biennial at El Museo del Barrio in New York, NY. She lives and works in Brooklyn.
