Gossipgate Gallery

The first and foremost art gallery in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty…. an area of dramatic contrasts where many artists find inspiration.

Over 20 years ago, Peter and Sonia Kempsey opened Gossipgate Gallery in a quiet back street of the small high Pennine town of Alston in the beautiful South Tyne Valley.

The Gallery has a reputation for quality paintings, sculpture and a wide variety of craftwork from the North of England and runs a continuous programme of exhibitions throughout the year. It is a member gallery of Arts Council England's "Own Art" loan scheme.

There is a small coffee shop and on fine days you can enjoy the tea terrace and water sculpture in the wildflower garden.
