HUP Photography Gallery

Roy Kahmann opened his first gallery in June 2001. It was the first online photography gallery in Europe. www.vintagephoto.nl presented a collection of photographs chosen from almost 40 mainly Dutch photographers. It was the need of his customers, who wanted to see the works in real, which made him start a (not online) gallery. His first exhibition in 2003, which presented portraits by Hendrik Kerstens, was a huge success. The catalogue ‘Paula’s Pictures’ is already a rare and wanted piece. Also the catalogue of his second exhibition of the Japanese urban landscapes of Bert Teunissen made on rice paper is hard to find.
It was until February 2005 that the modern-chic designed HUP Gallery near the Amsterdam Vondelpark opened her current location. HUP represents mainly vintage and contemporary Dutch Photography.
Besides a large vintage print collection from Gerard Peterus Fieret, Sanne Sannes, Kees Scherer, Eva Besnyö, Ed van der Elsken and Ata Kandó, HUP gallery sells a beautiful collection of signed books.
