Don Griffin
Collage turned three –dimensional is called assemblage. Griffin’s work is developed from the collage tradition. More than an art technique, collage represents a state of mind that runs parallel to the modern world. Cutting and pasting have introduced irreversible change into the age-old pictorial rectangle, and have altered the ways that visual space is perceived. Contemporary sculpture has changed, and Griffin’s work is at the forefront and an integral part of that change, in the main stream of modern art moving into the new millennium. The evidence of the artist’s hand is crucial to the sometimes-strange mix that is art; Griffin’s work speaks of presence in the real-space interaction between viewer and object. With emphasis on two & three-dimensional expressions, his interest is focusing on a collaborative effort to make stronger connections with the universal language of musical power, and its effects on the spiritual power. Defining more accurately what he refers to as Audio -Visual Abstraction, a fusion of art and music.

"PASSPORT TO EQUINOX"
SHOW DESCRIPTION:
It is the goal of this group of Collaborators to integrate Visual Fine Art with Improvisational Jazz. In this effort it is expected that an extraordinary statement will be accomplished by the participants, to honor the legacy of the musical contributions made by John W. Coltrane. This Collaborative Installation is seeking the Creative Spirit of all there is in Art and Music endeavors.
Passport To Equinox Exhibition is another "Internationale ComZee Project." Curated by Don Griffin.
COLLABORATIVE MUSICIANS
Carl Grubbs was chosen as the connective individual to open the "Passport to Equinox" Collaboration project.
