Perc Tucker Regional Gallery

Perc Tucker Regional Gallery has a collection of over 2000 artworks which continues to grow. The focus of this collection is on works that relate to North Queensland, with an overall theme of the tropics. This thematic umbrella encompasses Contemporary Art of Tropical Queensland, Historical Art of Tropical Queensland, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Art, Contemporary Art from Papua New Guinea, Popular Art and Ephemera.

The Line
25 January - 30 March
Tate Adams has painted a seven metre gouache, using a large, squat brush much like a Chinese caligrapher's. This work, the Line, forms the core of the exhibition that includes subtle geometric paintings by Margaret Wilson, large format black and white paintings by Vince Bray, plus works from the Collection: drawings by James Gleeson and prints by Graeme Peebles, Jock Clutterbuck, Fiona Foley and Glen Skien.

Recent work by Sydney based artist, Mona Ryder. Known for her innovative sculptures, Mona Ryder explores the erotic and violent from a feminist perspective.

Requiem: by the photographers who died in Vietnam and Indochina
11 April - 8 June 2008
Between teh height of the French Indochina War in the fifties and the fall of Phnom Penh and Saigon in 1975, 135 photographers from all sides of the conflict were recorded as missing or dead. This exhibition is a memorial to those men and women. In many cases it includes the last photographs they took.

An exhibition organized by Horst Faas and Tim Page and toured by George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film.
