High St Gallery

Situated at the heart of Kirkcudbright’s historic artists’ colony, in south-west Scotland, high st. gallery exhibits contemporary Scottish painting, sculpture and ceramics, and Scottish Fine Art.
high st. gallery is owned by Maureen Briggs D.A. and Richard Ross D.A., both graduates of Glasgow School of Art.

Artists Represented

Contemporary Scottish Painting
Gallery artists are predominantly graduates of Glasgow School of Art and Edinburgh College of Art, from 1950 to the present day - many of whom live and work in Dumfries and Galloway. ‘The gallery exhibits works by nationally and internationally recognised artists such as Peter Howson, John Bellany, Jolomo, Pam Carter, James Macaulay, Davy Brown, George Birrell, Alexander R. Robb, Hazel Campbell, and Frank McFadden, alongside the work of more recent graduates.

Scottish Fine Art
Currently and recently exhibited artists include: J.D. Fergusson, William Johnstone, Ann Redpath, and E.A. Walton. The gallery also regularly exhibits works by the Kirkcudbright artists of the past including Jessie M. King, E.A. Taylor, William Miles Johnston, Anna Hotchkis, and David Sassoon.
