Forthcoming Exhibitions

625 Gallery will be showcasing the work of photographer, Margo Moritz, and painter, Leo Bugel.
Moritz’ series “Exquisite Abandon” explores the intersection and difference between photography and dance; as one freezes movement, the other is characterized by the passing of it. Interested in the two mediums, Moritz’ figure series freezes the figure, forming the lines of the body into dark, graphic landscapes with a minimal approach to light. ‘Exquisite Abandon’ refers to brief moments when the body let goes completely and is suspended from gravity.
Drawing inspiration from urban and industrial surroundings, Bugel’s work focuses on crane structures, bridges and water towers, capturing the juxtaposition of linear graphic shapes against the sky. Using sharp brushstrokes and bright color, Bugel uses these angular structures to create his own fantastical worlds from the overlooked machinery present in the urban landscape.
