Art Gallery 21

Art Gallery 21 is convinced that in order to fulfil its goals it is essential to go beyond one nation’s borders and therefore it begins to identify the best young artists from all three Baltic States – Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.
“21” embodies a number of luck, symbol of the 21st century and the initial stage of any young artist. Art Gallery 21, which opened in October, 2008, wants to demonstrate how these young creative minds perceive the world around them and will represent art that holds a perspective in professional development. Art Gallery 21 supports the optimistic direction of the contemporary art, averting the dreary, short lived abundance of trends that fulfil the art world today.

Purposely distorted forms of selective compositions and characters highlight the plurality of meanings behind them. Eduards Kļavinš, the Art Academy of Latvia professor, expresses- “the fictional motives in the artist’s work combine fierce grotesque and playfulness - her undeniable strength has been achieving to see life’s ever-changing nature.”
