Chan Hampe Galleries @ Tanjong Pagar

Chan Hampe Galleries aims to create a platform for both emerging and established Singaporean artists to showcase their works to a larger local and, more importantly, global audience.

Chan Hampe Galleries at Tanjong Pagar is a more locally flavoured gallery geared specifically to supporting and nurturing the development of emerging artists in Singapore. By providing a space to these artists to further explore and create, while simultaneously introducing them to a well-established collectors base, Chan Hampe Galleries offers them an opportunity to grow and inaugurate themselves permanently on the local and eventually international market.

All That's Left Has Gone To Sleep - a solo exhibition by Dyn (Safaruddin Bin Abdul Hamid)

The artist's childhood utopia, the playground, is one that still evokes treasured memories of an exciting place where his creativity was first cultivated, so it is of little surprise that this is the focus of his latest series of paintings in All That's Left Has Gone To Sleep. Dyn remembers the playground as a meeting place for new and old friends where adveture always waited, a time when life was much more simple and the lure of climbing ropes and slippery slides was a world only limited by his imagination.

Dyn obtained his Diploma in Fine Arts in painting from LaSalle – SIA College of the Arts, Singapore. He later received his Bachelor’s Degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia and went on to get his Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Open University at LaSalle – SIA College of the Arts. Shadows of Ink - a solo exhibition by Quek Kiat Sing

Opening Night: Friday 1 July 2011, 7-9pm

The ancient medium of Chinese ink has been beautifully employed by Singaporean artist Quek Kiat Sing to portray the familiar and contemporary in her enchanting exhibition Shadows of Ink. By using recognizable subject-matters Kiat Sing hopes this will allow the audience to see just how creative and relevant Chinese ink, as a modern medium, can be.

hadows of Ink runs from 24 June, 2011 until 10 July, 2011 at Chan Hampe Galleries @ Tanjong Pagar, which is located at 21 Tanjong Pagar Road. The exhibition is open from 10am - 6pm on weekdays (closed on Wednesday) and 11am - 4pm on weekends. Admission is free. For enquires please call +65 6222 1667.
