Claudia Gian Ferrari Arte Contemporanea

History

The gallery was founded in 1936 by Ettore Gian Ferrari and, after his death, the daughter, Claudia Gian Ferrari, continued the activity of the father and opened in 1996 Claudia Gian Ferrari Studio di Consulenza per il Novecento italiano. This studio deals with a group of Italian artists of ‚Äė900 italiano, such us Adolfo Wildt, Alberto Savinio, Arturo Martini, Arturo Tosi, Cagnaccio di San Pietro, Carlo Carr√†, Fausto Pirandello, Felice Casorati, Filippo De Pisis, Gino Rossi, Giorgio De Chirico, Giorgio Morandi, Mario Sironi, Piero Marussig, Pio Semeghini, Ubaldo Oppi, Marino Marini, Giacomo Balla, Gino Severini, giving evaluations and expertise, organizing exhibitions and taking care of the catalogues of some of them.

Claudia Gian Ferrari Arte Contemporanea, founded in 1990, presents works by young emerging artists of national and international level, through solo and thematic exhibitions.

Takeo Hanazawa
The Salt‚Ä®

Claudia Gian Ferrari presents the italian solo debut of Takeo Hanazawa (Tokio, 1977).
The artist operates on a strongly disjoined line compared to the ruling -research on technology. As a matter of fact, Hanazawa works mingling and comparing eastern with western culture, history with present-days; his subjects are drawn from his own experience as well as adhering with people’s different ways of expression, visual and literary, ancient or modern.

Fascinated by Antonio Tabucchi‚Äô aphorism ‚Äúthe salt of any interesting civilization is mixture.‚ÄĚ, Takeo Hanazawa choses Salt as title for this exhibition, to underline the importance of the melting and the comparison of different cultures.
