Different types of art are displayed throughout the new MJ Java coffee shop at Offutt Air Force Base. The former Burger King was renovated and transformed into a place for military members to view art The coffee shop doesn't offer just lattes and espressos. It has been transformed into an art gallery, offering a unique atmosphere in which friends and colleagues can meet for refreshments, lunch and view art by local artists affliated with the military.

Daren Kizlin, and his mom, who own and run M J Java at 13th and Farnam streets and other mobile locations throughout Omaha, contacted Margo Monico-Priest, a stained-glass artist, that they knew through their affliation with the nearby Hot Shops Art Center and asked if she would consider pulling together artists to create a gallery within his future coffee shop. They advised her that once the base approval was given and the five-year contact was signed they would have a short period of time to bring to life his vision. Location And Getting There

At highway 370 and 84th street turn North. Second street on right is Matthies Drive. Turn right and proceed east through two stop signs. There is a jog in the road to the right. At 800 Matthies Drive, on the left, there is a stop sign and hudson fender sculpture on the premises.
