Galerie Valentin, formerly Galerie L'Art Français, was founded in 1934. The gallery exhibits 19th and 20th century Canadian Classical artists, The Group of Seven and their contemporaries, and many well known Contemporary Canadian painters and sculptors.

Every big city has a soul and Montreal is no exception. Quite the contrary in fact, for it is exceptionally vibrant and colorful. The intensity portrayed in the works of three of our most important artists is, once again, a testament to this. The Galerie Valentin is in fact providing an exceptional opportunity to celebrate Montreal through a choice selection of works from Philip Surrey, John Little and Miyuki Tanobe. For each of these three artists, Montreal and its bustling side streets have been, throughout their careers, at the core of their respective artistic expression.

In their own way, they have all managed to capture the heart and soul of this city's inhabitants, its unique architecture and its northern light, sidestepping all clichés. Above all, they successfully captured on canvas the distinct identity of each of the city's neighborhoods.
