Galleri Heike Arndt DK

English

Galleri Heike Arndt DK is a Danish gallery, placed in the old eastern German quarter Berlin-Friedrichshain, where the alternative, “authentic” Berlin is growing. The Gallery considers its main task to promote contemporary Scandinavian art in Germany and as well to promote contemporary German art in Denmark. Galleri Heike Arndt DK wishes to intensify the active and dynamic dialogue with the art scene in Berlin and provide an opportunity for Scandinavian and artists working in Germany to exhibit here. The interest lies particular on common projects between Scandinavian artists and artists with resident in Berlin.

The gallery is defined as ”klein aber fein” and focuses on showing contemporary art such as painting, sculpture, drawings, graphic prints and new media. In our growing graphic department there is always a selection with several 100 pieces of Skandinavian and German prints availiable.

Exhibition opening at 6th March 2013

Drama, passion and humor are the main themes of this spring’s exhibition opening. The sculptures and paintings draw the audience into a world, where danger and eroticism lure. We are proud to present Faroe-Danish Gunleif Grube together with German Frank Paul. Both artists have been following one another through more than 20 years. Important in their artworks is the color red – red for love, happiness, blood, passion and danger.

Gunleif Grube (FO/DK)
Gunleif Grube’s artworks are powerful, colorful and filled with passion. The characteristic red color gives the canvas a dramatic, but also poetic expression. He portrays the human being as wild, erotic and full of life. Despite his international presence, it is the first time Gunleif Grube exhibits in Berlin, which we are very proud to take part in.

Frank Paul (DE)
