Galleria Enrico Astuni

Galleria Enrico Astuni was founded in 1992 by its director, Enrico Astuni. Since its opening, it has been dealing mainly with Italian contemporary art masters. It has recently begun promoting young European artists. It often co-operates with public Insitutions and Museums. On the occasion of its shows, rich catalogues are published with texts by renowned art critics.

GROUP SHOW
Opening in mid September, the new group show at Galleria Enrico Astuni in Pietrasanta, Duomo square, is presenting works by young Europena artists such as Simone Racheli, Franz Baumgartner, Mike Silva, Massimo Kaufmann, Janis Avotins, Leonardo Pivi, Izumi Kato and Antonio Riello. Painting and sculptures are on show with Racheli's smart pieces, Avotins' introspective portraits, Silva's peculiar cityscapes, Baumgartner's timeless landscapes, Riello's ceramics weapons, Kato's childish drawings, Kaufmann's full coloured canvases. A varied survey going through European contemporary trends.

A CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITION IN BOLOGNA REFLECTS ON A LOSS OF DIRECTION IN ITALIAN CULTURE AND SOCIETY

With no political agenda and without passing judgement, a contemporary art exhibition shakes up the dead calm of Italian culture. How? By showing the country for what it is: uncertain, undecided, disillusioned, with no clear identity and no clear prospects.
Viva l’Italia is the title of the exhibition curated by Fabio Cavallucci opening on 2 October 2009. The show includes works from important galleries and private collections, as well as some that were made specially for the occasion. Viva l’Italia brings together works of artists with different cultural and stylistic backgrounds in order to convey an atmosphere: the uncertain, ambivalent atmosphere of present-day Italy, rather than adopting a specifically critical approach or investigating any particular line of art-history development. In a display that involves not just space but time as well, with a series of images and sounds, Italy is described through its symbolism, its legends and fears, through its signs of decadence, feelings of nostalgia, and precarious element... ART VERONA
The third edition of Art Verona, opening the fair season in Italy, will soon begin. The Galleria Enrico Astuni will be present in Hall 7 Booth I 12, and in an exhibiting area at the entrance of the fair. The gallery will present many works by young European artists such as Janis Avotins, Franz Baumgartner, Martin Borowski, Massimo Kaufmann, Charles Moody, Leonardo Pivi, Simone Racheli, Mike Silva.

Franz Baumgartner
He was born in Kleve, Germany, in 1962. He attends Koln and Dusseldorf Academies with Karl Marx and Dieter Krieg. Baumgartner paints common places: streets, corners, landscapes made up with few elements and peculiar colours. He works in Germany, the Netherlands and Italy. His works can be found in outstanding collections such as Palazzo Forti Museum in Verona and caldic Collectie, Rotterdam.

Massimo Kaufmann
Born in 1963, he lives and works in Milan. His paintings are made up of colours, built in abstract patterns. Through this kind of language his canvases take the spectator to another dimension. Among ... [ Read all ]
