Walter Steiger

The title "de la tête au pied" is taken from the French translation of a popular song by the no less well-known Grande Dame - the international show-business legend Marlene Dietrich. The exhibition title brings together works of painting and sculpture with handicraft creations that are used and consumed daily in their millions – shoes. It is the gallery owners’ aim to remove these works, however expensive they may be as footwear, from their functional purpose and present them as objects of pure art (l’art pour l’art). This venture has already been undertaken by artists on several occasions before, although not in materials associated with the shoemaker’s craft.

Walter Steiger in contrast is creating three designs exclusively for KRUEGER DOSSIER for the exhibition in the tradition specific to his craft and in the classic raw material of leather; everything else will be left to the designer’s creativity. These designs will be presented with sketches and paintings in acrylic, also in Steiger’s hand, through ... Robin Heidi Kennedy
Hermann Wolf

September 30 – November 20, 2010
Opening Thursday, September 30, 07.00 pm

Works by the American-Italian sculptor Robin Heidi Kennedy are being exhibited in the German-speaking countries for the first time. The gallery owners Bernd Krueger and Armand Dossier will also exhibit works by the German-Austrian artist Hermann Wolf in collaboration with the UBR Ulrike Reinert Gallery, Salzburg.

Robin Kennedy is represented by sculptures in bronze and polyurethane in sizes up to life-size. These include sculptures that exist in interaction with one another. Krueger and Dossier will also be exhibiting some of her graphic works.

Hermann Wolf has developed his well-known Zonal pictures (Zonenbilder) and brought them to a greater density and concentration of composition. Some works from the years 2007 – 09 vividly display this progression to their culmination in the work of 2010.

The title of the exhibition partly refers to the various postures in Robin Kennedy’s sculptures, and partly the complex structure and colourful perspectives in Hermann Wolfâ... [ Read all ]

Press Releases

French artists from now on in Salzburg/Austria.

The Franco-German gallery owners Bernd Krueger and Armand Dossier will be opening a new focus for contemporary art in the Salzburg old-town on 22 July 2010.

Their intention is to present an element of the French and Mediterranean lifestyle alongside the many forms of Anglo-American influence in the art scene, and this is reflected in the title of their opening exhibition “De la tête au pied” (From head to toe). Their exploration of artists from western and southern European countries still unknown in the German-speaking world but who are already recognised abroad will commence with an exhibition of three artists from “la belle France”.

The gallery KRUEGER DOSSIER Centre d'Art Moderne will exhibit paintings and sculpture which diverge somewhat from the largely dominant artistic forms of minimalist abstraction and a restrained application of the colour palette.

Bernd Krueger und Armand Dossier wish to use their centre for modern art to offer a platform and a spring-board to interesting art graduates and young artists alongside artists wi... [ Read all ]

Location And Getting There

Bernd Krueger and Armand Dossier are realising their dream of owning a gallery for contemporary art in an Art Nouveau building which dates from 1898. The ambience of the showroom with its discreet furnishing with French Art Nouveau, Art Deco and contemporary objects creates a private space which displays the works of art in an intimate environment.

There are two floors with a surface area of more than 1650 sq.ft. The first floor is a classic apartment with high ceilings (11ft) which is connected by a private staircase, also used as a display space, to a basement lit by bright daylight. This has the feel of a loft and contrasts with the elegance of the apartment.

From the basement area you enter the courtyard which will be open for customers during the openings.

A large parking area behind the building offers plenty of space for visitors coming by car.
