Le Violon Bleu

Le Violon Bleu was established in Tunisia in 2004 and rapidly built a significant presence as a leader in the field of contemporary North African and Middle Eastern art. A branch, under the same ownership, has now opened in Maddox Street, Central London and is the first gallery in London to bring North African and Middle Eastern influences and re-contextualise them amongst European artists.

The gallery’s artistic selection follows a distinct set of priorities in finding contemporary art that delivers an innovative message and attempts something new through process or practice. The gallery exhibits a wide range of work from both established and emerging artists from Europe and countries as diverse as Morocco, Lebanon and Iraq and offers them the opportunity to develop and evolve their work within the space. The gallery is also interested in the variety of the physicality of the work and thus presents a range of pioneering sculptural and painted compositions including the use of ceramics, bronze, sand and mixed media.
