Skopia - Pierre-Henri Jaccaud
Skopia Gallery was founded in Nyon in February 1989 by Pierre-Henri Jaccaud.
From the outset, it has worked with a new generation of Swiss artists and has distinguished itself through its rigorous selection of both artists and artworks, and its numerous "premières".
It has exhibited at Art Basel since 1993.
Since its opening, Skopia Gallery has sought to develop contacts with internationally renowned artists, both Swiss and foreign.
In 1994, the gallery was among the first to move into the abandoned industrial area now know as the "Quartier des Bains".
The years 2008 and 2009 wil be pivotal ones for the gallery and several of its artists.
Silvia Bächli, after two succesful exhibits at the Pompidou Center and the Museu de Serralves in Porto in 2007, will represent Switzerland at the Venezia Biennale 2009.
Thomas Huber will have a series of exhibits in major Museums throughout Europe. From August 2008 to July 2009, his works will be shown at Marta Herfordd, Centre Carré d'art de Nîmes, Kunsthalle Tübingen and Es Baluard Palma de Mallorca.
