Orientalism & Ephemera explores the attraction and presence of the "East" within our everyday exerience. Focusing on ephemeral objects and artefacts, the exhibition offers an alternative space from which to consider the representations of orientalism in western culture.


Farouk Kaspaules: Be/Longing

Farouk Kaspaules' visual experiments focus upon displacement and exile, employing a complex vocabulary of æsthetic forms derived from ancient and contemporary Iraq. Evoking the many paradoxes of exile in Be/Longing, Kaspaules visually preserves and acknowledges his painfully ephemeral memories.

The works in Myths of the Land offer intriguing perspectives of the language and symbols on which Canada has been defined.
