THE WEISS GALLERY

Juxtaposing contemporary work with fine 19th Century European artworks, The Weiss Gallery is a showcase for craft-intensive, descriptive art.

The Weiss Gallery represents a dynamic group of artist whose varying approaches to painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture pay respect to time-honoured methods of artmaking. With an eye on history and old world aesthetics, these artists have found a beautiful expression within a contemporary vision and context.

Current Exhibitions

ALEXANDRE MASINO: Infini présent - September 4 - 27

In his early thirties, Masino has already enjoyed the success of shows at a number
of prominent galleries both in Canada and the United States. His creative drive is not limited to his mastering the difficult media of encaustic painting – in representational style, no less – but fuses many artistic disciplines within his art making practice.

I have attached the press release for this exhibition, which will mark his first exhibition in Western Canada. We are incredibly pleased to be working with Alexandre and are honoured to showcase this new body of work – powerful mountain-scapes that embody the true presence of the Rockies. There will also be a selection of his equally
transcendent still-life paintings.
