GX Gallery

GX gallery is perhaps one of the most unique spaces in which to showcase art in South London.

GXgallery exhibits interesting and unique Modern British, International and Contemporary Artworks in a friendly, unpretentious atmosphere, and it’s often been remarked that people feel comfortable ‘wandering in from the street to have a look at the art’. We consider this a great compliment; it speaks highly of the philosophy instituted by gallery owner and director Davide Mengoli, who believes that art should be something to celebrate and enjoy.

Our gallery artists are a diverse group, each creating work in accordance with their own particular style and interests, ranging from that of photorealistic figuration to pure abstraction. In addition to our national and international artists, we are very proud to have established solid relationships with several talented local artists.

Daniele Dell'Angelo Custode shows a way to incorporate the expressive poptential of the metallic element, the communication of man with his environment and his response against the everyday world. Harry Brereton is a recent Painting graduate from the Camberwell College of Arts. Colin Halliday’s new works continue his enthusiasm for landscape and nature, and reflect his growing interest in outdoor painting. Halliday’s noteworthy method of applying thick oil paint aims to emphasize the objectness of paintings themselves and their multiple dimensions.
This most recent body of work sees Halliday working on an unprecedented scale and with an increasingly vivid sense of gesture. Pursuing exciting new formats and challenges, the exhibition promises to reveal the excitement that a new generation of painters have to offer the venerable tradition of landscape paint...
