Arts Guild New Jersey

Arts Guild New Jersey is a non-profit center for the arts located at 1670 Irving St. at Seminary Avenue in the Downtown Arts District of Rahway, NJ.

The Arts Guild presents a yearly program of fine art exhibitions and jazz concerts, winter, summer and fall multiweek art classes for adults, teens and children, one-day art workshops, a kids' summer art camp and a variety of art talks, lectures and seminars on art and cultural topics.

The art exhibits at the Guild focus primarily on the presentation of works by notable emerging New Jersey artists. We feature a wide range of mediums (painting, prints, photography, mixed media collage, construction/assemblage, sculpture, etc.) and a broad range of styles from photo realism to complete abstractions. Our exhibits aim to present an overview of current or enduring trends and directions in the contemporary art of New Jersey's arts community.

Our jazz series, likewise, focuses on the presentation of top drawer jazz talent from the New Jersey/New York area. This program highlights "straight-ahead" jazz as practiced by noted performers with national a... [ Read all ]

Tek-Tanik will attempt to explore the relationship between our physical environments and our emotional/psychological environments. Where we are physically has a great deal of impact on how we feel and identify on many levels, short term and long term. This exhibit will deal with issues of environmental health and relates those issues to health of community and spirit.

Questions asked will include: How do we create and recreate ourselves around our spaces? Does the shape of our internal lives reflect the literal shape of the structures that surround us? What impact has the wea... [ Read all ]

Neither Union County or Rahway are particularly notable for having a large active population of notable visual artists compared to others. Essex County with many artists in Newark, Montclair, the South Orange / Maplewood area or Hudson County produces a sizable community of no... [ Read all ]
