Inspiration Fine Art

Inspiration Fine Art is a Harlem-based art gallery that exhibits the works of local emerging and established artists. IFA showcases affordable original artwork in a variety of mediums – acrylic, oil, mixed media and photography – for businesses, homes, avid art lovers and collectors. IFA is dedicated to supporting works that are innovative, engaging and inspired by personal experiences and a high level of cultural awareness.

Founded in July 2005 by Dionis Ortiz and Camille Wanliss, Inspiration Fine Art was created as an alternative to the downtown art scene and as a response to the artistic and economic revitalization of the uptown area. By planting a seed of opportunity for its artists, Inspiration Fine Art strives to build a foundation for growth with its roots firmly grounded in the Harlem community.

Current Exhibitions

"Formation"
June 15 - July 23, 2007.

In Formation, contemporary Harlem artists from the past and present come together to share a unique perspective on art. Established members of the Weusi Collective, a collaboration of artists during the Black Arts Movement of the 1970’s, pass the torch to some of today’s promising emerging artists to bring forth a profound level of creativity like no other. With similar energy, the artists explore various cultures within the diaspora and use art as a tool to communicate the truth - understanding that within truth lies power and understanding in yourself and the world around you.

Forthcoming Exhibitions

"Migration"- September 24th 2007. Opening Reception

First solo showcase by Artist and IFA Founder, Dionis Ortiz. At a time when the topic of immigration is paramount, artist Dionis Ortiz's Migration series is a visual exploration of the people, culture and color behind the issue.

Previous Exhibitions

“Unbridled”
September 22 – October 29, 2006

Through photographs, paintings and detailed sketches, Unbridled explored several artists' interpretation of unrestrained moments of movement including dancing, running and even flying. The images, ranging from the docile to the wild, were an unyielding look into rhythm, innocence, and our innate urge to be free.
