Gallery/Dealer Details - Graff Gallery
Founded in 1980 by Madeleine Forcier and Pierre Ayot, Galerie Graff is located at the heart of Montreal’s Plateau Mont-Royal area. First affiliated to Ateliers Graff, Galerie Graff started its own regular exhibition programming in 1979 through the presentation of prints and works on paper. In 1980, the gallery administratively dissociates itself, modifies its exhibition spaces, and starts to present its first painting exhibitions. Galerie Graff promotes its vision of contemporary art through an average of eight solo exhibitions a year. In the gallery's two exhibition rooms, the public can observe and experience new works in painting, sculpture, photography, video, and installation. The gallery's programming also includes group shows, sometimes based on a specific theme and other times related to specific events. On an international level, Galerie Graff regularly participates in contemporary art fairs: Art Basel (1983 to 1992); Art Chicago, Chicago (1993); Estampa (1996) and ARCO (1998), Madrid; and FIAC (1999); Art Paris (2000 to 2003), Paris and the Toronto International Art Fair since 2004. These activities create privileged meetings and contribute to the promotion of the gallery's artists on an international level.
