Press Releases - The Gallery
An exhibition featuring Tom Berry, Ollie Johns & Snublic Plus work by Nem Sarton & members of the Essex Print Club
Exhibition runs from Friday 2nd of September until Sunday 25th of September
The Private View, with a chance to meet the artists, is on Friday 2nd of September from 6pm till 9pm.
The Gallery is pleased to announce a group exhibition presenting three unique approaches
to contemporary illustration and drawing through the medium of pen and ink. Some of the works veer towards humorous comic book styles; some to street art and the more illustrative realms of graffiti, while others have their roots in more traditional approaches - ambiguous imagery evoking Arthurian legends, dark fairy tales and folk art. Some have a subtler, underlying narrative and explore darker, psychological themes. All however have been executed using the simple yet undeniably powerful medium of INK.
Tom Berry is based in Bristol and has previously worked in sound and graphic design. Snublic lives and draws in Colchester. His background is in digital media, animation and narrative filmmaking. Ollie Johns is living and working in London and his work draws heavily from his background in graffiti and illustration.
