Submission Policy - Leeds Met Gallery

Artistic Policy
Leeds Met Gallery remains dedicated to the development and presentation of contemporary visual art reflecting new practice, new ideas and excellence in execution.

Through a programme of work that challenges perceptions and provokes debate about the changing position of contemporary art within the cultural arena, we aim to provide a focus for critical understanding and appreciation of contemporary practice.

We are committed to support the development of new work from artists in the early stages of their careers.

Programme Structure
Leeds Met Gallery welcomes proposals from artists for solo, group or thematic exhibitions.

The exhibition programme consists of six exhibitions each year. and forms a balance of different strands – artists’ proposals, initiated projects and occasional hired in exhibitions. For the majority of these, the gallery works in partnership with artists and other art galleries / organisations to develop exhibitions of new work.

The gallery holds a budget to contribute to production costs, equipment hire or artists’ fees/ expenses. In addition we will cover promotional costs.
