Submission Policy - United Galleries Perth
United Galleries is always looking for artists seeking representation. We ask that any artist looking to submit their work first review the artists currently represented to best understand the mission of the gallery.
If you are a multi-media artist, please limit your submission to only those mediums specifically pertaining to the gallery.
Due to the large volume of artist submissions, strict guidelines exist for gallery review, failure to follow gallery procedure greatly inhibits the review process.
Portfolios should contain:
> A minimum of eight images of recent work accompanied by titles, dimensions, medium and retail prices
> Artist biography listing previous/current exhibitions and representation, awards, prizes and significant sales (and prices) or commissions, education, et cetera.
> Portfolios must include a SASE stamped envelope for return. The gallery accepts no responsibility for inadequate postage or for lost or misplaced portfolios.We accept digital photos and/or slides of artist's work only, actual artwork will not be considered beyond scheduled appointments made specifically by the gallery director or curator.
Additionally, artist's websites and/or online portfolios cannot replace actual submissions, though if you have a site the address may be included in your submission.
Review typically requires a 1-month turnaround period, during which the gallery will contact the artist with any questions. Submitting artists are strongly discouraged from calling.
After review, artists' portfolios will either be returned via the postal system or kept for further consideration. In the latter case, artists will be notified by the gallery directly.
