Photo Description:
Portrait of Livia White marble. Altura, 0,36 m. 14-37 AD Origin Cerro del Castillo, Medina Sidonia, Cádiz. Comments Female head sculpted in fine-grained white marble. It is a provincial replica model of the portrait of Augustus' wife with a \"nodus\" hairstyle, characterised by a high quiff on the forehead, side waves, straight hair on the cranium and a low, thick bun. The most relevant physiognomic features are the large eyes, wide cheekbones, small mouth and short chin. It would have been made by a copyist from the province.
