Centre D'Art Contemporain D'Ivry

Le CREDAC / Galerie Fernand Léger (centre d’art contemporain d’Ivry)

Once again, this season, the links forged by the galerie fernand léger
between the various actors from the artistic field in Ivry-sur-Seine will
be lit up by Pleins Feux: open workshops, exhibitions and artistic events.
Following Guillaume Leblon's National Monument and the reconstructed
towns by Meschac Gaba and Hermann Pitz, Hervé Beurel
presents his photographic inventory of architectural decorations.
Continuing with this experiment of artists' work in and with the city,
we have invited Bettina Klein to put together the urban visions
of artists who experiment with advertising: a fine introduction to the
art et évolutions urbaines symposium.
A rich re-entry to the city, whether virtual or concrete!

26 January - 11 March 2007

Taking as a starting point the anti-advertising movements that are very
present in France, Bettina Klein, a Berlin curator invited by the galerie
fernand léger, proposes an exhibition on the relationships between
advertising and the public space. How does advertising take over
urban space? What are the different points of view, the possible ways
in which artists can twist this omnipresence of marketing? This group
exhibition proposes to initiate all these lines of thinking through
documents, videos and specific artistic productions.

Education

Several exhibitions organised by the contemporary art centre focus
on the attention given to contemporary art in schools, on amateur
practices developed in local plastic arts workshops and on recent
graduates of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris.

The public services department offers various actions and partnerships
in connection with the artistic programming and according to the
demands made by each sector of the public. So that events accompanying
exhibitions best correspond to the expectations of each one,
the public services department lays emphasis on a sensitive relationship
with the artworks and offers a space for exchange and collaboration
around contemporary art: guided tours, opportunities to meet with
artists, art critics and exhibition curators, educational and cultural
projects based on a theme or a particular discipline, art workshops,
courses in theory and practice, art trails of works throughout the town,
interventions by artists and presentations of work extra muros... are
all possible actions that may arise from common desires and dialogue.
