Hibel Museum Of Art

Hibel Museum of Art brought to realization a dream shared by Clayton B. and Ethelbelle Craig of Boston, Massachusetts to create a permanent repository for their Hibel art collection of over 300 paintings, stone lithographs, drawings and porcelains. The dream unfolded in 1977, with the opening of the original Hibel Museum of Art on Palm Beach. The museum is the world’s only not-for-profit, public museum dedicated to the art of a living American woman. In July of 2002, the Hibel Museum of Art moved to its new location on the John D. MacArthur Campus of the Florida Atlantic University in Jupiter, Florida. Opening of the new spacious facility designed by Architect, Kha Le-Huu and Partners marked the beginning of a joint venture between the Edna Hibel Art Foundation and the State of Florida. The museum not only showcases over 1,200 pieces of Edna Hibel’s art, but also hosts other art collections on tour.
