Institute Of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia

Founded in 1963, the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania is a leader in the presentation of contemporary art. Through exhibitions, commissions, educational programs, and publications, ICA invites the public to share in the experience, interpretation and understanding of the work of established and emerging artists.

Cost

$6 for adults; $3 for students over 12, artists and senior citizens.
Free to ICA members, children 12 and under and on Sundays from 11am - 1pm.


Opening hours

Wednesday through Friday, 12pm - 8pm
Saturday and Sunday, 11am - 5pm
Monday and Tuesday, closed.

ICA is closed Christmas, New Years Day and Thanksgiving Day. We are open the Friday-Sunday after Thanksgiving normal gallery hours.


Getting there

Public parking lots are located adjacent to the museum and in the surrounding area, and metered parking is available on the street. ICA is an easy walk from Amtrak and SEPTA lines. For public transportation, take city bus #21 to 36th and Walnut Streets, or any green line train (except #10) to 36th Street. ICA is located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania at the corner of 36th and Sansom Streets (between Chestnut and Walnut Streets), seven blocks west of the Schuykill Expressway (76) from the 30th Street or South Street Exits.


Trains: Amtrak or SEPTA to 30th Station
Walk west on Market Street to 36th Street, then south to Sansom Green Subway Surface (except #10) to 36th St. and Sansom Streets. Market/Frankford Subway west to 34th and Market Streets.
