Musée Du Compagnonnage

The museum was created in 1968, in the ancient Benedictine abbey of Saint-Julian, dating from the 12th century. This splendid building, restored after the war, comprises of 600m2 of exhibition space in two rooms, one being the ancient monks’ sleeping quarters.

The space is dedicated to what is known as “belle ouverage

Over four hundred works are contained within the museum. Some of these are “reception


Exhibitions

Every July, an exhibition is organised and presented in the Abbey, around a particular Compagnon craft.

Open every day except tuesday.
From 16 september to 15 june :

Closed 1 january, 1 may, 14 july, 1 and 11 november and 25 december.




Facilities

A substantial boutique is on site, to provide a wide selection of items, including the museum’s publications (biographies, memoirs of compagnons)
