Musée International De L'Horlogerie

Le Musée international d’horlogerie works in conservation and restoration for its collections for particular pieces chosen following precise criteria. The efforts to conserve are defined by a strict ethic of restoration, in order to keep a piece functioning without altering the look of the pieces, or to conserve them without paying heed to its function. This work takes great precision and a perfect knowledge of the technique, history, and styles.

Permanent Collection

The permanent exhibit is split into various zones. The visitor is greeted by a display of the first mechanical clocks and clocks with bells. There are also instruments that have been used to measure time since antiquity through the 19th century. The more recent time pieces are separated into another space to highlight the intricacies and modern developments. Special consideration is given to the evolution of wrist watches. An artistic piece using jingle bells lights up different colours depending on the time, highlighting the great architecture of the museum.
