St Fagans:National History Museum

St Fagans: National History Museum is one of the world’s best-loved open-air museums. Set in over a hundred acres of parkland, it tells the stories of the peoples of Wales. Original buildings have been moved from different parts of Wales and re-erected at the Museum. These include a Victorian School, industrial iron workers’ houses and a rural chapel. Traditional craftsmen work in the re-erected workshops and mills and the Museum’s fields are home to a range of native livestock.

Oriel Un, an innovative new history gallery opened in March 2007, complementing the existing Agriculture and Costume & Textile galleries. You can also get a real sense of gardening history as you walk through the grounds: from the formal gardens of the castle to the cottage gardens that provided food for working families.
