| Description: | Single Shared Breath considers the breath as an exchange that we’re all continuously engaging in. It uses the motif of the kiss as an intimate connection between two people that is romantic but it is also used as a way of sustaining life in resuscitation. The work explores where these two meet, where one becomes the other. I am interested in the way that as each person takes the breath, they have to use some before returning it to the other. Through the duration of the kiss, as the breath becomes depleted what is at first a romantic exchange becomes about dependency and life.
