This piece examines the temptations and pressures on young people in today's society. The biblical idea of good and evil is shown through the red and blue characters; one tempting the central figure while the other points down in judgement. The middle person, posed on a stool looks out questioning which road she should take. I was inspired by a the quote, “the doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live” (Flora Whittemore), and so my piece is based on the idea that our time is precious and we must choose the paths that we feel are right for us. I have looked at the work of Jenny Saville and Alphonse Mucha during the creating of this piece. |
