'Internal Turmoil'

Photo Description:
'Internal Turmoil' presents a burnt and ripped open heart on a sterile white background. It is an acrylic paint study that represents metaphorically how our mental health makes us feel inside. My idea for this piece was to use an organ(our literal insides)to symbolise our emotional insides. This painting represents how our insides can feel when going through periods of depression. With depression people often experience a sense of falling apart and brokenness from within. This is why I decided to burn the heart, showing that it is blackening, malfunctioning, discolouring and rip it open symbolising the falling apart feeling experienced.
