Photo Description:
This portrait displays how the emphasis of light can allow empowerment to the subject. The decision to focus closer up on the face also reflects the connotations of power, however, equally hint at a sense of vulnerability in the way that areas of the face are hidden in shadows. I chose to use a male figure as a way of looking away from the stereotypical relations of vulnerability in women and focusing towards the depiction of vulnerability in men.
