Entrapment

Entrapment
Photo Description:
‘Entrapment’ By Beatrice Wilkin, from Queen Anne’s School, Caversham. AS Level Materials: Mixed media. The inspiration for my work was Damien Hirst’s exhibition at the Tate Modern. His work is both shocking and intriguing and I wanted to cause the same reaction. I am particularly interested in methods of preservation such as the use of formaldehyde, drying and freezing. I enjoy experimenting with unusual material and find challenge and discovery exciting. In these pieces I have used Latex in coloured water, bones in batik wax, and flies in clear candle wax.
